Linn-Benton Women's head basketball coach Jerod Gibson, Friday, October 28, 2022. Jerod has been the head coach of the team for five years and has enjoyed every second of his leadership. While attempting to build upon the team's 15-11 record in the previous year, Jerod is excited to feature his star point guard on this year's team. Graduating from Linn-Benton in the 90s, Jerod enjoys building bonds with both his fellow coaching staff and players, as well as students as the school. Jerod's goal is to win a league championship, but says that he has not given much thought to coaching at a university some day. Jerod believes that positive encouragement and an inviting attitude, as well as positive statements of belief are the key to developing a winning team. Focusing much of his interview on his coaching, Jerod says that he tries to keep his personal life separate from his professional life, but enjoys participating in character building with his players, whom he hopes to push on to greater heights in life.
